The Student Quiz Bowl has become a very popular event at annual meetings for the Canadian Institute of Forestry. This event provides a time of friendly, team, head-to-head academic competition amongst forestry schools. Many of the student participants in this event have also competed successfully at recent Society of American Foresters (SAF) conferences. Applauded by students and seasoned professionals, this event continues to be a highlight for the Canadian Institute of Forestry conference as school teams compete for the recognition of the best knowledge of current forestry practices and resource issues.
The Quiz Bowl will be held Sunday evening at the Jasper Park Lodge in the Beauvert Room starting from 7:30PM to 10:00PM, followed by a Post Quiz Bowl Welcome and Reception. Take up the challenge and register your team by filling out the registration form under this tab and email it directly to Alex Drummond at alex.drummond@ualberta.ca

CIF Conference Grant

The Canadian Institute of Forestry/Institut Forestier du Canada (CIF/IFC), a non-profit, non-governmental organization, has been the national voice of forest practitioners since 1908. Members are foresters, forest technologists, forest technicians, educators, scientists and others with a professional interest in forestry. A different local section hosts the CIF/IFC Annual General Meeting and Conference each year. In addition, approximately every ten years, this AGM and conference is held jointly with the Society of American Foresters. The CIF/IFC has a grant
available for students to support their attendance and involvement at CIF/IFC Annual General Meetings and Conferences.
