Dimensions of Forest Management on a Headwaters Landscape

This tour will examine the antecedents, current challenges and adaptive management strategies in the foothills adjacent to the front ranges of the Rocky Mountains. Participants will see current approaches to industrial forest management, oil and gas exploration, coal mining and reclamation, wildlife management, water and fisheries conservation. The contribution of research, including that of the Foothills Research Institute, to meeting these challenges will be highlighted.
