2. Lodgepole Pine Regeneration

Installation of this long-term field trial commenced in 2000 and was completed in 2002 (see Project Establishment Report). The replicated trial is designed to monitor the development of lodgepole pine, regenerated after harvesting, in relation to site, initial spacing of planted stock, natural ingress and mortality, competing vegetation (brush), and density control (pre-commercial thinning). Measurements and experimental treatments are ongoing. An initial crop performance report was published in 2005, and data analysis is underway to develop a regeneration establishment model.
