Primary activities are program planning and management, field co-ordination, technical meetings and field tours, data analysis, and dissemination of information. The Foothills Model Forest administers the program. It retains a director who manages all projects, and a field coordinator who oversees fieldwork. The Association’s steering committee, assisted by technical representatives from each member organization, oversees program implementation
