2012 Caribou Workshop Recap
On January 12th & 13th, FRI hosted a workshop to discuss the current state of caribou research, knowledge and recovery. More than 90 audience members from the governments of Alberta, British Columbia, and Canada, academia, industry, consultants and NGO’s attended the two day event.
On the first day attendees heard insightful and informative presentations showcasing a broad range of research and knowledge.
On the second day, based on information presented and a draft discussion paper, participants were led through facilitated sessions designed to generate a list of caribou research and knowledge questions focused on filling the gaps in information needed to support recovery planning and efforts.
The next steps are to synthesize the information captured at the workshop and develop a final framework for a FRI Caribou Program.
Check out the Alberta Land-use Knowledge Network website for videos, presentations and audio files from the workshop.
